AESTHETIC PLASTIC SURGERY

Plastic surgery is a surgical specialty involving the restoration, reconstruction or alteration of the human body.

What is Plastic Surgery?

It can be divided into two main categories: reconstructive surgery and cosmetic surgery.  Reconstructive surgery  includes  craniofacial surgery ,  hand surgery ,  microsurgery , and the treatment of  burns . While reconstructive surgery aims to reconstruct a part of the body or improve its functioning,  cosmetic  (or aesthetic) surgery aims to improve the appearance of it. [1][2]  A comprehensive definition of plastic surgery has never been established, because it has no distinct anatomical object and thus overlaps with practically all other surgical specialties. An essential feature of plastic surgery is that it involves the treatment of conditions that require or may require tissue relocation skills. Surgerypool performs both kinds of plastic surgery but puts an emphasis on cosmetic plastic surgery.

What are the Types of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery?

Tummy Tuck: Abdominoplasty or "tummy tuck" is a  cosmetic surgery  procedure used to make the abdomen thinner and more firm. The surgery involves the removal of  excess skin  and  fat  from the middle and lower abdomen in order to tighten the  muscle  and  fascia  of the abdominal wall. This type of surgery is usually sought by patients with loose or sagging tissues, that develop after pregnancy or major weight loss.

Rhinoplasty: Reshaping the nose; It is a restructuring surgery. The aim is to make the nose functionally and aesthetically better. In medical terms, rhinoplasty means aesthetic nose surgery. It is a surgery to reshape the nasal skeleton and soft tissues and make them harmonious and proportional to the face.

Breast Aesthetics: The main purpose of mastopexy surgery is to reverse breast sagging and obtain a younger-looking breast. A new breast is created, combining all youth-related elements such as shape, symmetry, liveliness, fullness, volume and correct position of the nipple.

Face Lift: The general aim of face lift surgeries is to correct fine lines and deep folds on the facial skin, eliminate loosening and sagging of the skin, reveal the jaw line and provide a young, lively and rested expression to the face.

Cat Eye Surgery: A temple lift is a surgical procedure to shape and tighten the temples upward to create a more “cat-like” appearance.

Blepharoplasty: Blepharoplasty is the  plastic surgery  operation for correcting defects, deformities, and disfigurations of the  eyelids ; and for aesthetically modifying the eye region of the face. With the excision and the removal, or the repositioning (or both) of excess tissues, such as skin and  adipocyte fat , and the reinforcement of the corresponding  muscle  and  tendon  tissues, the blepharoplasty procedure resolves functional and cosmetic problems of the  periorbita , which is the area from the eyebrow to the upper portion of the cheek.

Lip Lift: Liplift, that is, lip lifting; It is a surgical procedure performed to reduce the distance between the columella (base of the nose) and the vermilion border (upper lip red line). While this distance may be long at birth, it may also tend to lengthen with age. By reducing the height of the philtrum (the distance between the upper lip and the nose), a more balanced proportion in the anatomical area between the base of the nose and the chin can be achieved and facial aesthetics can be improved overall.

Neck Lift: Neck lift aesthetics is the removal of loosening and sagging of the neck skin and subcutaneous muscle tissues, including the jowl area under the chin.

Ear Correction: Otoplasty is a procedure for correcting the deformities and defects of the pinna ( external ear ), whether these defects are  congenital conditions or caused by  trauma . [1]  Otoplastic surgeons may reshape, move, or augment the  cartilaginous  support framework of the pinna to correct these defects.

Fillers: Facial fillers are substances injected into the skin to smooth wrinkles and make them less noticeable. Injection of a facial filler is generally an outpatient procedure that’s done with numbing medication. The procedure takes up to an hour.

Buccal Fat Removal: Buccal fat pad extraction or buccal fat removal is a  plastic surgery  procedure that removes a piece of   buccal fat-pad  tissue from each side of the face. This reduces the appearance of cheek puffiness, creating a sharper jawline. The amount of fat removed varies based on the desired facial shape. It is a strictly cosmetic surgery.
